Painted Canyon / Mecca Hills Jeep Tour (4 Hours)

Painted Canyon / Mecca Hills Jeep Tour (4 Hours)

Duration: 8 AM Jeep Tour (2 people)

Location: Palm Springs Desert Resort Communities, CA, United States

The adventure begins the moment you board your Big Red Jeep and depart on a 40-minute journey through the lush agricultural lands at the Eastern end of the Coachella Valley.  Discover why this part of the valley is called the Salad Bowl as your guide explains the importance of agriculture to the economy of the Palm Springs area.  On the way you will pass lush Polo Grounds, the Martinez Landslide, and fields of Date Groves, grape vineyards, and other crop fields. As we work our way East, you will enjoy incredible views of the Salton Sea, the second largest inland body of water in the United States, where over 400 species of migratory birds rest and nest on their migratory path along the pacific flyway.  Then we are on to the awe-inspiring painted hills. Thrust up by tectonic collisions and cut into endless mazes by erosion, these steep-walled canyons offer some of the most spectacular scenery, tortured rock formations, and amazing colors seen in the desert.   Tour Advisories:  Guests with neck or back injuries and women who are pregnant are advised to consult with their doctor before taking any Jeep Eco-Tour.   There are NO RESTROOMS available on this tour. Due to BLM restrictions, guests must hike (through sometimes deep sand) into some of the canyons on this tour.  Therefore,  proper walking/hiking shoes are required for this adventure. The amount of hiking can be adjusted on this tour according to guest preference and ability.   Hikes range from easy to challenging (based on guest preference).

Catrafting

Catrafting

Duration: Ultimate Whitewater

Location: Golden, BC, Canada

What is Catrafting? Catrafting, simply put, is an inflatable craft with two pontoons. The two pontoons are held together with an aluminum frame. The floor of a catraft is unique, as it is made of mesh. This allows the waves to not only saturate the front and sides of the raft, but also the floor! A catraft is a stable craft. The Alpine Team spent time 'researching' the catraft with many, many happy 'test cases'. We found the catraft to be an ideal craft for the big waters of the Kicking Horse, and a great compliment to our current fleet.   How do we sign up for catrafting? The easiest way to book Catafting is to book here, online. What trips are available in the Catraft and what is the cost? The Kicking Horse River Challenge, and the Ultimate Whitewater are available in the Catraft.  The Cost is $10 above the regular cost of these trips. So, the Kicking Horse Challenge in the Catraft would be $159, and the Ultimate Whitewater in the Catraft would be $129.  Catrafting is best suited to:  Those looking for something  a little different than regular rafting  First-time Rafters as well as experienced Rafters. Catrafters must be 16 years & up. Stags/Stagettes Corporate Groups  Please note: We reserve the right to cancel Catrafting if water levels are not suitable. In that case we will refund you the different in price between Catrafting & Regular Rafting. Taxes Include 12% HST + 3% Gov't Land Use Tax
