WELCOME TO OCEAN EXPLORERS

In and effort to provide more personal attention and better diving for his customers, we are restricting the amount of divers on the boat at one time from 4 to 6. This means however, that reservations are mandatory as the boat fills up fast.

Our Hawksbill turtle on 'French Reef' is still there. Amazing, as it has been over two years since she first appeared. She has been named 'Tanya'. Tanya also has a new friend...a beautiful Green turtle. The green turtle showed up about 6 months ago and decided to stay. So 'French Reef', though it is a shallow dive is becoming more and more interesting. We are still undecided on the name for the new resident.

Over on 'Charlies Shoals we still have 'Angelina' the Green turtle. She has been there for over a year and a half now. This reef still never ceases to amaze us. Eagle Rays, nurse sharks and caribbean reef sharks are being seen. Not to mention the southern stingray population out in the sandy areas.

We had a fair amount of coral bleaching like the rest of the world during the summer months. Fortunately 99% of our coral came back, so the reefs are in great shape. The water temperature during summer measured 89 degrees at 60'...incredible!!!

Our boat 'Ocean Explorer' has two new engines and is looking real good. Though we have a few more buildings around us the shop still remains under the waving palms on this tranquil beach.

Believe it or not this is the 30th year for the shop in St. Maarten.

Thats about all to report for now. Come and see us and we will introduce you to some of our underwater residents.

Have a great 2009!!!!

Happy diving,
OE
