Guatemala Highlights
1st Day: Arrive at the La Aurora international airport in Guatemala City, where a shuttle will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.
2nd Day: After breakfast we take you to the main attractions in the most cosmopolitan city in Central America, Guatemala City. During our tour you will visit the National Palace of Culture; the Central Plaza; and the Metropolitan Cathedral and 4 Grados Norte, a newly remodeled arts and nightclub district, where you can have lunch. During the afternoon visit the Popol Vuh and Ixchel museums.
3rd Day: After breakfast depart for Antigua Guatemala. Upon arrival you will check in at your hotel before heading out to tour one of the oldest cities in the Americas. From its colonial architecture to its beautiful surroundings, you will be charmed as you stroll through town on the cobblestone streets, exploring stunning monasteries, convents and cathedrals.
4th Day: Free day in Antigua Guatemala
5th Day: After breakfast you will depart for Atitlan, the most beautiful lake in the world. After check in at the hotel, you will take a boat tour of the lake with a stop in one of the 12 native villages surrounding the lake. You will have lunch and return to your hotel in the afternoon.
6th Day: (Thursday and Sunday) Early in the morning depart for Chichicastenango, one of the highlights of the living Maya highlands. In Chichicastenango visit the second largest outdoor market in Latin America; Santo Tomas church; morerías and Cerro Pascual Abaj.
7th Day: 5:00 AM leave the hotel to take the Guatemala-Flores flight. Arrive at the Mundo Maya International Airport in Flores Peten. Take our private bus towards the archeological site of Yaxhá, where recently the CBS hit show Survivor was filmed. Yaxha was the third most important city of the Mayan World in the late classic period. Enjoy exploring the pyramids and the restored structures through the jungle paths.
8th Day: In addition to being the center of the Mayan Culture, Peten has the most important natural reserve of Guatemala. Experience the beauty of this region as you explore Ixpanpajul Natural Park. Here you can enjoy a variety of activities such as canopy tours, sky walking, horse back riding, mountain biking, and trekking.
9th Day: Early morning departure to the archeological site of Tikal. Here you will have the opportunity to explore the many pyramids, stelae, temples and buildings of the most important Mayan City yet discovered. As you wind through the jungle paths of this ancient site, you will also be able to experience the many species of plants, a variety of birds and the famous howler and spider monkeys.
10th Day: Transfer from your hotel to the airport three hours before your departure time
