BARCELONA FULL DAY TOUR 8 Hours
A day spent seeing the most interesting sights of this fascinating city. We shall start by visiting the place where the Universal Exhibition was staged in the year 1929: the Plaza de España, situated at the feet of the Montjuïc mountain. Visit (optional) to the Pueblo Español or Spanish Village, built specially on the occasion of the ’29 Exhibition, where you can see smaller copies of all of Spain’s great monuments in just 45 minutes. Next stop is the Anillo Olímpico or Olympic Ring area where the Olympic Games were held in 1992. Stop and tour of the Olympic Stadium. Later on, we shall go to the Mirador del Alcalde, a vantage point offering fantastic views of the city and then on to Barcelona’s most famous and varied street: Las Ramblas. Next stop will be the historical part of the city known as the Barrio Gótico or Gothic Quarter. Here, we shall stroll through its streets, traditional squares and then to the mediaeval Barcelona Cathedral with its cloisters. Lunch can then be enjoyed in this area or by the sea at the Port Olímpic, with a wide variety of restaurants. The afternoon will take us to the Modernist section of the city: Paseo de Gracia (where there are Gaudi’s famous houses, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà), the Güell Park (also by Gaudí) and the Sagrada Familia (the beautiful Gaudí cathedral still being built). End of tour in agreed place.
