Day 1:

We begin aboard our private aircraft this morning. Our flight will take us over some of North Idaho and Western Montana’s most spectacular scenery. The flight will take in the numerous sparkling lakes and streams that literally ribbon the mountain ranges below you. We will be met at the Glacier airfield where we will hear the stories of how this area was formed thousands of years ago. This enriching discussion will take place while we pass through the canyon on our way to the park. The scenery along this drive will be dramatic with the mountains rising high around you and the glittering river beside you. Keep your eyes out for grazing deer, bear, and elk that abound in this U.S. treasure. We will meet our private helicopter to get up close to some of the most rugged surroundings in North America. For the next hour you will be amazed and thrilled as we fly over this one million acre geological wonder. You will be treated to a bird’s-eye view of over 15 active glaciers, gushing waterfalls-some falling as far as 1500 feet, and pristine lakes in colors you have never seen before. The photographic opportunities will be astounding as your pilot glides in and around the mountain peaks and valleys of one of our most coveted wilderness areas. The mountains are the homes to grizzlies, black bears, moose, elk, deer, and wolves as well as the famed big horn sheep and mountain goats. So keep your camera ready. Whew, this was an easier and much quicker way to see the famed Going-to-the-Sun Road!

Upon landing, we will begin our drive into the park where you will be treated to a hearty lunch at a historic and beautiful lodge where you can relax and purchase a souvenir of your unique experience. Kick back and enjoy a cup of coffee at the edge of a pristine mountain lake. You can also take time to enjoy the history and rustic interior of this lodge which dates back to the early 1900’s. There are numerous activities to partake of at the hotel; from a hike around the area, to canoeing, horseback riding, or a nice ride on the lake in a vintage boat. You have all afternoon to enjoy the area before heading back to join our private plane for our return flight to Coeur d’ Alene.
