Field observation and birdwatching on route. While crossing the area down the Transpantaneira dirt road, spectacular chances to spot many birdlife such a Jabiru, Wood Stork, Roseate Spoonbill, Southern Screamer, Plumbeous, Buff-necked, Bare-faced & Green Ibises, Sunbittern, Long-tailed Ground-Dove, Black-collared, Great Black & Savanna Hawks, Snail Kite, Chaco Chachalaca and many others. Arrival at the hotel at the end of the day. Check in. Sunset and Nighthawks watch. , followed by some Owling. Dinner. Field Check List Track (FCT). Overnight. 2nd. Day: Early morning breakfast and birding on the gallery forest of the Pixaim river, good chances to spot the Helmeted Manakin, Rufous-tailed Jacamar, White-lored and Rusty-backed Spinetail, Mato Grosso and Band-tailed Antbird, Red-billed Scythebill, Flavescent Warbler, Moustached and Buff-bellied Wrens, Purplish Jay, Troupial, Crested Oropendola, Solitary Black-Cacique, Blue-crowned Trogon, Black-fronted Nunbird, Silver-beaked Tanager, Rusty-collared and White-bellied Seedeaters, Lesser Seed-Finch and many others. We will move to a lodge with nesting Hyacinth Macaws and daytime roost for Great Potoo. This area is also "literally" packed with a great number of other birds. Check in. Lunch. Siesta. Day: Arrival from home at the International Airport of São Paulo. Transfer to the Itaiaia National Park. Check in. Lunch. Optional Siesta. PM: Dedicated to watch fantastic bird at the gardens of the Hotel & its feeders - Possible Birds: Brazilian Ruby, Dusky-legged Guan, Saffron Toucanet, Green-headed Tanager... just to mention a few... We shall stay long enough to watch the Sunset & try some owling, which would include chances of seeing the Semi-collared Nighthawk and the Tawny-browed Owl. Dinner. FCT( Field Checklist Track). Overnight. 2nd. Day: On this day, we will bird on the upper part of the Park, where we shall almost the entire day. But, "no pain... no gian... " Box lunch. And our gain shall be superb: The very endemic Golden-winged Cotinga, Itatiaia Spinetail, Blue Manakin, Brassy-breasted Tanager and Gilt-edged Tanager among many more! Return at the end of the day, with chances for Tawny-browed Owl on the way back to our hotel... Dinner. FCT. Overnight. 3rd Day: On this day we will be exploring trails - Both AM & PM, but returning to our lodge for a nice meal & some rest. We will search carefully for the Antwrens: such the Star-throated and Ferruginous and Antbirds such the: White-bibbed Antbird - Both endemic to Brazil!!! 4thth. Day: Breakfast. Check out, with birding in route: Streamer-tailed Tyrant and Firewood Gatherer. Once we arrive in Ubatuba, we shall make a stop on a wonderful property where we may see the Red-necked Tanager, this place also have a very nice feeder: Saw-billed Hermit, Sombre Hummingbird and Festive Coquette!
