Birdwatching Africa
Bird Life Africa. Birdwatching is our concern. Senagambia Image. Bird Life Africa organise professional bird watching tours both in The Gambia and Senegal, specifically tailored for small groups or individuals. With our experienced guides you will adventure off the beaten track to discover a rich variety of birds, wildlife and vibrant culture in these two beautiful and friendly West African Countries. The Senagambia region boasts an aviafauna of some 660 species in total, with The Gambia recording some 540 species alone, a third of which are migrants largely from the Palearctic. A holiday here promises something for everyone with shorter, relaxed trips available in the coastal region of The Gambia to more exciting two week trips concentrating on the more rural and bird rich areas up-river. Niokolo Koba National Park in south-east Senegal is the premier site in both The Gambia and Senegal for large mammals and rare birds. It covers an area almost the size of Gambia with 9, 000 km2 of uninterrupted wilderness and has been designated a World Heritage Site and an International Biosphere Reserve, reflecting its global importance. It is little visited and the highlight of our two week trip up-river (see Senegambia Image) If you are into birds and wildlife in a big way this park is a must for you. Bird Life Africa has the experienced, local leaders to ensure a most memorable and enjoyable birding holiday to little explored areas of the region. We have three core programmes to choose from although these are easily tailored to suit your needs. The two week trips require prior booking but the shorter tours can be arranged once in The Gambia by contacting Ebrima on 4461704 or 9841959. Alternatively email:
