Cape Peninsula Tour to Cape Point -Full day or half day We take a scenic drive down the Peninsula west coast via the 'Twelve Apostles’ along a winding road that hugs the coastline. A boat trip to Seal Island is a highly recommended; its 45 min round trip from Hout Bay and you can see a colony of 8000 Cape Fur Seals. From there we take the spectacular scenic drive over Chapman’s Peak all along the Atlantic Ocean to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, and the treacherous Cape Point The nature reserve has a variety of wildlife for us to lookout for. Once we get to Cape Point you can climb up to the old Cape Point lighthouse or perhaps take a relaxed ride in the funicular to the top. Imagine standing at the end of the earth, well this is the sensation as you gaze out over the seas and dramatic cliffs. Many a ship has sunk on this unforgiving coast. It is only on the rear occasion that the mischievous Chacma Baboons do not come out from the bushes to play so keep your camera’s ready, for this primate has some rather unusual behaviour, and they just love “watching the humans” There are some great places to stop and buy quality hand crafted gifts and several restaurants to choose from. Some of our guests just love to stop at one of our fishing villages for fish and chips fresh off the fisherman’s boat and into the pan. Just around the corner we visit the most south westerly point of Africa for a quick picture to show the family and friends back home. At the next stop we meet the adorable African Penguins on Boulders Beach, a colony of Penguins that have chosen to live on the beach and mingle with the local residents. We return along the False bay east coast, passing through historic Simons Town naval base and homeward bound along the Indian Ocean . We will pass several historic sites on our way home.
